Wood Promoted to Vice President

Wood Promoted to Vice President Shannon Wood has been promoted to Vice President of Operations for Security National Bank of Enid. Wood’s promotion was made during the bank’s annual meeting of the board of directors. Wood has been with Security National Bank since 1997 when she was hired as a part time teller. Since that time she has held key positions within the organization; teller, proofing, POD, and bookkeeping. Wood is an Assistant Vice President with the bank and has been head of bookkeeping. “Shannon is an excellent addition to our executive team” said bank President Brad Blankenship. She is Security National Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act office and now head of operations. Wood is a graduate of Enid High School and Northern Oklahoma College. She holds an associate business degree. Shannon and her husband Troy have one daughter Baylee and a son Luke.

Bank to close for concrete work

Security National Bank will close its west branch location at 210 North Oakwood Saturday February 17, 2018 to allow for concrete work. “Our west branch location is working with Casey’s General Store to provide the bet plan for quality parking and traffic. To facilitate the pouring of the concrete we felt it would be easier to close the 210 North Oakwood location. We will have our downtown location at 201 West Maine operating at full capacity so everyone should be able to conduct their banking usual” said April Danahy vice president of corporate communications for Security National Bank. The hours for Saturday at the 201 West Maine location will be 9am to noon in the lobby and 8am to noon at the drive thru. SNB Pays for As

Security National Bank of Enid will once again be rewarding five lucky area students for their good grades with the SNB Pays for A’s program.

Since 2002 thousands of report cards have been submitted. The bank sponsors the program twice a year, once for spring semester grades and once for fall semester grades.

The program is open to students in grades 3 through 12. Public and private school students are encouraged to participate. Students will have until 5pm February 02, 2018 to take their report cards to any of Security National Bank’s three locations. There the bank will make a copy of the report card and place it in a hopper. Four cards will be drawn from the hopper. Those four students will receive $10 for each A and $5 for each B on their Fall 2017 semester grades. Individual grades from each nine-week section will not be considered. All students entering their grades will receive a coupon for an ice dream cone from Chick Fil A of Enid.

In addition to the four students who will be “paid for their As”, one card will be drawn from the hopper for a $150 savings account with the bank.

Jason Turnbow has joined Security National Bank of Enid as a Vice President in Commercial Lending. Turnbow has been in banking for 15 years with Interbank and brings with him vast knowledge of lending and marketing.

In addition to his work in the banking community Jason holds leadership roles on many community service and civic organizations. He is chairman and past president of the Grand National Quail Club, member of the Grand National Quail Foundation and a class XIX alum of Leadership Greater Enid. He serves as the Ward 2 representative on the City of Enid Special Sales Tax Oversight Committee, Ward 2 Representative on the City of Enid Kaw Lake Sales Tax Oversight Committee.

Mr. Turnbow has served on numerous boards and commissions including; Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, CDSA, United Way Budget Allocation Team, the Enid Higher Education Council and Enid Air Force Association.

Jason is a graduate of Oklahoma Bible Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Oklahoma State University. He and his wife Torry are active in the Enid community, where they raise their three daughters ages 11, 8 and 4.

Dachshund Race Date Set

Security National bank of Enid, Park Avenue Thrift, Eagle Marketing and the Chisholm Trail Expo Center are once again joining forces to help raise funds for animals and animal related causes. Now in is seventh year the Enid Paws 4 the Cause Dachshund Dash will be held October 21st and will be raising funds for Furever Friends.

Enid Paws 4 the Cause is a National Dachshund Foundation sanctioned event.

Three age groups of dachshund athletes will compete for the title of Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion which will qualify them for the national race in Finlay, Ohio. The age groups are; puppies 4 months to one year in age, adults one year to eight years in age and seniors eight years and up. All racers must be full blood dachshund. This year there will be additional races for “mixed breed dachshunds” and those assisted by carts for disabilities. The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion of those races will also qualify for the national race in Finlay, Ohio.

This is the seventh year for the event which continues to grow. Funds raised previously have helped; Bennie’s Barn, purchase two Enid Police Department K9 partners, furnish trees and shrubs for Enid’s dog park, furnish watering stations for pets on the City of Enid’s master Trail, provide outside adoption areas at the Enid Animal shelter and help create shade for outdoor play at the Enid SPCA.

Owners may register their dachshund athletes at the Groom Closet 2005 West Chestnut Avenue. Registered dachshund will be randomly drawn to be chosen to participate in the dash. Limited racing spots are available. There is a $20 registration fee for those racer’s registered by the October 04, 2017 early bird deadline. Late registration fee for entries received after October 04, 2017 is $45. Additional information about the dash and registration can be found at www.enidpaws4thecause.com

There will be sponsorship opportunities and booth space at the event are available.
